Depth Over Distance: Focus on One Idea Before Expanding

Depth = The Cost of Not Focusing on One Idea Before Expanding

So many ideas, so little time!

Technically so much time that one can dedicate entire life to one or few great ideas but it takes way more effort than people think to build on first one that frees up time to attend next and then next.

No amount of subscriptions will take away the pain of building, if nothing is working right now in your life or business, you probably need to go deeper instead of wider.

Kids in their 20s should be ecstatic to enjoy next 10 years of experiments while world adjust to AI in every aspect of life.

I am in my early 30s and what helped me to graduate to next level of the game of business is going deeper instead of wider. Of course sometimes I would forget about age and start new things just because it is exciting projects but going in depth in business is helping me grow personally and professionally.

Every product and service I have built stays at same level and have seen same thing for others - only thing seems to be missing every single time is depth, conviction and systemised approach to be able to calculate growth.

Those terms only makes sense in individual story if they went deeper before anything else.

Again without the depth every human being plays same game level over and over again.

What does playing the same game level look like? It's launching a new project every six months but never getting past the initial 'exciting' phase. It's having a dozen domains registered but no real business attached to any of them. You get the dopamine hit of starting something new, but you never experience the profound satisfaction and growth - that comes from pushing through the messy middle when things get hard. This is the 'distance' trap: you're running a marathon on a hamster wheel, covering a lot of ground but ending up exactly where you started.

Loosing and finding = purpose and Individuality.

Unrealistic and delusional or realising and attainable, making income online, running a business is fun and that’s probably because how much effort it takes so may be the little fun moments feels so magnified.

Going in depth unlocks the purpose (even if it doesn’t feel real just yet) For me loosing myself into marketing opened the door for running Observant Convo Marketing, Dev and AI agency.

While everyday feels like just getting started - it has been a wild ride. Building so many things just to learn - websites, few full stack webapp, Ads and SEO, automations, email and text campaigns investing money into these experiments - are now in practice in real businesses including mine and others.

Branding = communicate.

I used to struggled to understand the concept - branding as if it won’t registered in my mind beyond logos, colors, typography and a message.

Now I look at personal branding something you do everyday and care enough to put efforts going in depth over volume, courage to speak, taking time to think before respond, opinionated because it shows up in your work.

Business branding cannot be defined with one playbook as each one would have different “Why“ and without a consistent efforts you are likely to stay on same level - which is not always a bad thing accept inflation tickles the idea of otherwise. Once gain without digging deeper why entire infrastructure is a gamble.

This is where depth directly builds your brand. When you focus on one idea before expanding, your 'Why' isn't just a statement on an about page; it's baked into every product feature and customer interaction. People don't just buy from you; they buy into your point of view, creating a brand that can't be easily copied.

This focus also makes becoming 'omnipresent' achievable. Instead of creating shallow content on ten topics, you create ten pieces of deep, insightful content on one topic. You can turn a single core idea into a blog post, a video, and a social media thread, achieving volume without sacrificing the quality and conviction that only depth can provide. This leads to growth, as long as your core product or service is solid.
